The friendliest and most welcoming independent book store! I’ve been coming to neighbors since they opened, and absolutely adore this place. They’ve special ordered books for me with no extra charge, and there’s always something new to find while browsing. I even went to one of their midnight release parties and met new friends :)

My partner and I stopped by during the Neighbor Books soft opening on July 26th. The bookstore is adorable, spacious, and well stocked. Their selection is top notch and the owners are super friendly. We recently moved to McKinney and cannot be more excited for this wonderful book store to join the downtown community. We joined as members and will look forward to MANY future visits!

Glad there is a local bookstore now in downtown McKinney. Good selection, friendly owner. Bought some watercolor books off a display that I would've never known about & just enjoyed browsing around.

Adorable!! Great selection of books and not overly crowded. Lots of seating upstairs and some downstairs to chill and enjoy a book. Sweet owners too!

We had an excellent experience at neighbor books. It's true that their selection is very small but it's clear that they're going to grow with time and income. What stood out to me and made me very happy was how many indie books they had on the shelves. They had a great mixture of genres and options. If I lived in McKinney, I would be here all the time. We also got to have great conversations with the staff who were all very welcoming and very kind. Happy to see independent bookstores making a comeback.

I’m OBSESSED with this independent bookstore! It’s inside a historic building and feels very cozy. I’ve been here a number of times with friends while exploring Downtown McKinney and most recently went to their Used Book Fair! All paperbacks were $6 and hardcovers $12! My friends and I got a bunch of gently used books for a great price, including author Kristin Hannah, the ACOTAR series, and author Abby Jimenez. Hopefully they do many of those again! Their setups are beautiful and the selections are updated with new and popular choices, but also ones I haven’t heard of before! They have every genre you could think of. Staff was also very friendly and helpful. There’s various reading nooks and lounge areas, great for kids and families to hang out at or for people to sit and read!

Quaint little bookshop in the heart of the original downtown McKinney. The shop is homey with creaky hardwood floors and lots of comfy seating on the 2nd floor. Very friendly employee that greeted me and checked on me. I grabbed an older book from the sale rack, and also bought a brand new 2026 book so, old and new can be found here.

Super cute and friendly bookstore! Loved that they had a kids area with little tables and chairs. When we went there was an author signing books.
